Any ideas? It has been sitting in the fridge far too long, is obviously not going to get eaten unless I make it into something...

...but what?

jacket potato filling?
as part of a pasta sauce?
incorporated in cannelloni/stuffed pancakes?

cottage cheese and spinach lasagne?

Sounds grim but it's similar to ricotta - lovely

NinthWave · 22/02/2010 12:23

PS when I do that recipe I alternate with layers of tomato pasta sauce.

I've never put cottage cheese in a pasta sauce - how does that work? what else goes in the sauce? I was planning pasta tonight.

The lasagne idea sounds interesting, but I've no spinach, not even frozen.

Ah - I used that recipe to get rid of all the bloody frozen spinach I bought in earnest when weaning DS!

I bet that gave him interesting nappies!

Any pudding/cake suggestions?

cheesecake?
wrt the pasta what about bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc as it will all melt in together
then obv if you're doing lasagne/cannelloni add your usual cheese sauce on top
another thought is moussaka
see you've really got me thinking here lol

I like cottage cheese - pass it this way I just eat it with pineapple or blue berries - good source of protien

meltedmarsbars · 22/02/2010 17:23

i haven't but is it worth having a nosey at the good food site?
i would def.stick with the savoury ideas i think unless you amaze us all with some ultra lush desert

meltedmarsbars · 23/02/2010 13:54

That sounds like a challenge!

I have made a cheeseake with the cottage cheese, lemon rind, and egg and some sugar on a biscuit base.

It is a very good use of cottage cheese - am eating it now!

Will try the spinach lasagne another time.
