My dh very thoughtfully bought me some lovely heart shaped silicone cupcake cases. How do I get the cakes out??!!
I greased them with Wilton cake-ease, but every one I have tried to get out has stuck at the bottom.

i haven't had this trouble, but try some greaseproof paper.

They are little individual ones- paper would be a bit tricky.

I've never greased mine (tho they're bog standard round ones) and they've always come out fine. Perhaps you're not meant to grease them?

notapizzaeater · 19/02/2010 14:53

Have you let them cool for 5 mins first ?

EssenceOfJack · 19/02/2010 15:03

If you leave them to cool they shoudl just fall out. I've never greased mine and I have fiddly tricky shaped ones.

twirlymum · 19/02/2010 15:31

Thanks, I'll try not greasing them next time.

Did you cook it for long enough? I find i have to reduce the temperature and cook for longer and the side of the cake separate from the cases. I do always grease mine though.

You aren't meant to grease them. You just pop them out once they've cooled a little.

I've had the same problem with ice-cream cone-shaped silcone cases. Having tried every different way of greasing/ not greasing etc, they are now in the charity shop pile! Other silicone cases are fine; I think there are some that jsut don't work for me...
