Please recommend a good quality, healthy fruit yoghurt

Have tried ds (16mnths) on natural yoghurt with fruit and honey but he won't eat it. As there are so many brands out there, I was wondering which ones are the best.

Yeo Valley organic are good, I agree.

I just buy natural yog - whole milk - and blitz a piece of fruit in it. Only way to be sure there's not too much sugar and that it's real fruit !

Haven't seen the kids Rachels Organic and Yeo Valley organic before.

Does anyone use normal yoghurt (ie ones that are not made specifically for kids)? I use Yeo Valley for myself, would it be ok for ds to have mine instead of buying the kids version?

Don't think I've ever bought kid's yoghurts. I buy Yeo Valley or Rachel's for ds and me.

I get (or could if DSs would eat anything but Thomas fromage frais) Yeo Valley in Sainsburys and the Rachels Organics ones I saw yesterday in an orgamic farm shop - a bit specialist and probably a bit more expensive

Kids Yoghurt has full fat milk to make it
Adult is (normally) made from semi or skimmed milk

So Kids (Esp under 2's) need kids yoghurt (unless you buy a F/F yoghurt

I never buy low-fat anything, not even for me (especially not for me ) but you do have to be careful, especially with Rachel's, that you don't get the low-fat stuff by mistake - labels aren't very clear.

I've bought Rachel's and Yeo valley ordinary (non-low fat) in the past for ds, they are fine IMO. But these days I usually buy the Yeo valley kids ones (strawberry tumble 4-pack or fruit jumble 4-pack) just because they are thicker and ds doesn't make quite such a mess with them!

I love Rachels organic full fat yoghurts but they are loaded with sugar. However in my house sugar is much preferred to artifical sweeteners so I'm prepared to live with that

Gingernut- where do you get your Yeo valley kids yoghurt from?

CADS,sorry if it sounds smug,but my kids have only ever eaten natural yoghurt.We all trough cartons of it. I don't buy low fat anything either,nor do I buy flavoured ones as they are practically all full of weird thickeners and stabilisers.

Onken is nice-set with a very mild flavour. How about the thicker Greek stuff too?
If you want to do flavours,how about blitzing apricots or strawberries or tinned prunes?

Are Yeo Valley the thick ones with insects on the packaging? Ds2 loves those.

I buy bid tubs.Maybe we're just greedy but why spend more on individual ones? (And think of the waste they generate!)

No problem moondog, have tried natural yoghurt with success in the past but then he was taken off dairy for a few months and now he refuses the natural yoghurt.

Yes...my dd went off water after the nursery gave her squash (unbeknown to me. )

Try the prunes-they have a density that really works well. Laugh at those natural yoghurts with a little pool of prune puree at the bottom. How slothful is that?!

Onken do a delicious one with summer fruits and cerals in which is wonderful
