I am lissie and I'm a terrible cook.

my awfulness is ingrained and a big running joke among everyone I know.

thought it might be nice to have a thread simillar to shiney's and the slatterns for non-cookers who wish to change their ways!

Have you tried mince roulette? In my house it goes something like this 'Hmm, have a packet of mince and an onion. They're nearly off, so better do something with them. Bolognese, Chilli, Shepherd's Pie? All the same thing really, give or take a bit.' I'm more of a can cook, but can't be arsed type.

Wow, wish my DH did a bit of cooking. He genuinely reckons that ordering a takeaway counts as cooking. We are now on first name terms with the curry delivery guy. Could be a good friendship to cultivate though. If I make him Godparent to one of my kids, do you reckon he'd give us a regular discount?

oooh got to be worth a try! dh is a very good cook. literally the only things i cook are Chow Mein and sausage and mash. dh makes his own curries from scratch.

Could you convince him to do a massive weekend cook-off and then freeze it all? You could become queen of the microwave all week. Tell him that cooking is supposed to be relaxing. He might even go for it.

lol, its worth a try. Ive decided to really make an effort from now on though. I am anorexic and as a result have a very uneasy relationship with food. I dont want ds to "notice" that so from now on I shall cook. am attempting toad in the hole tomorrow.

Good for you. By the way, it's sausage, not actual frog...

queenoftheslatterns · 17/02/2010 17:45
