Pancake recipe

Okay don't be too hard on me but I have never cooked pancakes before! Is there a basic batter mixture that tastes good sweet or savoury?

know its too late now but we use jamie olivers recipe 1 mug sr flour, 1 mug milk, 1 egg. mix and cook in hot pan rubbed with butter. fairly thick pancakes. i say 'we' the kids do it.
