How can I tenderise some crappy steak?

I'm going to make toddler DS a stir fry, he loves it with chicken but the only meat I've got in the fridge is some sirloin steak. DP had some yesterday and it was a bit tough.

Is there any way I can make it more tender? Can I marinate it in something?

Thanks!

give it a thorough bashing with rolling pin or steak mallet thingy, that should tenderise it a bit.

Slice thinly first then marinate in pulvarized kiwi or pineapple (enzymes in these fruit tendarize meat) with soy, sugar and a bit of garlic and ginger). Don't marinate too long, or the enzymes will do too much work and you'll end up with mushy meat.
