I've an 18 month old and he snacks on...

breadsticks, pitta, carrots, apples, bananas, pears, chunks of pineapple, sultanas, dried apricots or figs.

Easily portable things that are more of a meal are tiny pork pies & tiny scotch eggs from the supermarket, and at a push, sausage rolls or similar from the bakery. DS refuses to eat cheese or yoghurt but everyone else uses them.

I keep a couple of bottles of water and packets of breadsticks and dried fruit in the car because they keep for ages and if we get stuck somewhere, at least he doesn't go hungry.

My trouble at the mo is persuading him to keep his gloves on in the cold. Any suggestions? I'm fed up with being stuck inside.
