tried but it does't tell you how may cakes it'll do in the recipes I've found. I get the 2 to 1 bit but don't want to end up with gallons of the stuff

My Jane Asher recipe says:

100g (3 1/2oz) butter
150g (5 1/2oz) sugar
1/2 tablespoon of hot water

is 'one quantity'. Also one quantity are 36 mini cup/fairy cakes or 18 - 20 regular cup/fairy cakes. Depending on the size of your cakes, you could half the amounts, or make one quantity and have lavish toppings.

I did 8 to 4 and had mega thick bright pink icing with glittery sprinkles. Then I ate the rest . Will make less next time.
