Any ideas for quick chinese using fish/shellfish?

Apart from prawns, there must be some other easy chinese fish dishes? - I was inspired by that 5 prog last night, but there were only meat dishes, no fish.

Any suggestions?

Please?

Steamed white fish with ginger and soy. It's absolutely gorgeous and just takes as long as it takes to steam the fish.

ooh, that sounds good!

It is accidentally healthy so you must have pudding.

meltedmarsbars · 10/02/2010 11:57

Does it have to be a chinese pud?

any other fish ideas?

Well not stricktly Chinese but I make lovely thai style fish cakes with salmon, sweet potato, coriander, garlic and chilli and serve with noodles and stir-fried veg.

You can adapt any chinese meat recipe for white fish, just make the recipe without the chicken or meat (so essentially make the sauce) and then add steamed/poached or fried fish flaked up into it..

Or google ken hom fish recipes.

What about Thai style dishes? Or Japanese? Or do you specifically want Chinese?

I do like crab and sweetcorn soup

I've been doing scallops with a sauce made from thai spices (you know those little packs of lemongrass, galangal etc they sell in the supermarkets - only with extra ginger) and coconut milk.

Tescos 'finest' frozen scallops are really good. Follow the instructions but then sear them for a couple of mins at the end.

Think I've decided what to have for dinner tonight!

You buy fish from a supermarket!

scallops aren't technically fish though are they?
