What do you take to work for lunch?

Inspire me pleaaaase!

I am strict with not buying any food at work, so I take everything with me.

At the moment I have a coffee and a banana in the morning. Then for lunch I have a 'main' bit then an apple and a yogurt.

The main bit has been prawn salad this week. Last week I did cottage cheese salad and before that I did home made soup. Its all kind of blahhhhh though.

I get half an hour and we have a microwave, fridge and toaster...

I take soup and a roll and 2 or 3 bits of fruit.

In the summe I take salad and roll etc.

Not v inspiring!

I alternate between home made soup, sandwiches and salad (usually tuna with balsamic dressing) with yogurt and fruit.

This thread has made me think that with a little more organisation I could have:

pitta bread with houmous and salad

jacket spuds and beans (if you're ok with microwaved spuds)

beans on toast

scrambled eggs (if you're ok with microwaved eggs) and tomatoes on toast

cous cous salad

taboulleh salad

tinned sardines / mackerel on toast

I'm sure there must be many more inspired options, I'll watch with interest.

We have a microwave and I take whatever is left over from the night before.

Soup, pasta with sauce, casserole/chili/curry with rice, risotto.

If we have no leftovers or the previous night's dinner doesn't reheat well, I make egg or tuna mayo and buy a baguette or rolls on my way in.

a sad ham sandwich and an apple

I used to do fruit salad, day after day, week after week. Never got sick of it, so not much help really.

I have honed it down to the same thing every day and I never get tired of it.
Pitta bread (I keep it in the freezer and pop one in the toaster first thing on entering the kitchen)
Inside it go: humous and chopped tomatoes, and sometimes grapes.

For a while I put in spinach too but have dropped that.

These ideas in this link are for kids lunches but I have some of them so maybe us grown-ups can have them too

Thanks. I have made chicken salad wraps for today so thats a change...

DH nabs our leftovers so i have to make something, grr.

Pittas and jacket ps sound good.

I don't like cous cous or beans on toast so thats those options out which is annoying because I want to like them!
