Using up puff pastry?

OK so I have half a packet of puff pastry left over that needs using tonight - I want to make something small and easy - like palmiers perhaps.

At Christmas mincemeat palmiers were very successful - does anyone think you could do the same with jam?

Otherwise I've got apples and pears but thats about it - are there any small keepable pastries I could make (ie not a great big pie but things that can be gobbled up like biscuits)

Make a plait, with apricot jam in middle.

make lots of pastry cases then freeze them, you can add whatever when you're ready then

You mean like vol-au-vents size? Then freeze them cooked?

My sil does this thing with puff pastry and nutella, pretty much spreads it on and wraps it all up like a swiss roll, chills it in cling film in the fridge for a bit, then cuts into thinnish slices and bakes.

How about some good old cheese straws with grated Parmesan, freshly ground black pepper and sea salt

Cinnamon palmiers are easy and delicious - found a recipe online for you

Roll out a large square.
Spread half with marmite.
Sprinkle grated cheese over the marmite
Fold the other half over.
Cut into strips.
Brush the top with egg.
Bake

Delicious!

Just some squares topped with Roquefort, Cherry toms, maybe a bit of onion. Can be bite sized, or bigger, depending on what you feel like.

Another great one is to top it with a slice of tomato, piece of asparagus and grated Parmesan

I did some palmiers a while ago with anchovies and parma ham. They were yum. I think they were a v old Delia recipe.
