Cakes that travel

I am going away this weekend and have to take 2 cakes with me (each serving about 10).

I need to bake them tomorrow night but they probably won't be eaten until Saturday/Sunday.

What will keep the best?

Brownies keep well or gingerbread is meant to be better after a couple of daye.

Also Nigellas Dense Chocolate Cake is better after a couple of days.

sorry only just seen this

cakes with ground nuts are best:

eg orange or lemon and almond
pistachio

etc

Sorry - I got sidetracked!

In the end I went with Nigella's Rhubarb and Cornmeal cake and a lemon and almond cake.

Both kept really well and were very well received.

Next time I might have to go for gingerbread though!
