Help - my marmalade has set like rock!

The first time I have ever tried making marmalade and it is set like rock! Is there any way to retrieve it? Thanks in advance.

Yes. Sorry didn't see this earlier. I did this a few years ago. Stick/scrape it all back into the preserving pan and add boiling water to it. Heat it very gently and keep adding water until it has loosened and you have the consistency you want.

I would add I'm not sure what this does to its longevity. Longevity is never an issue for us as we eat loads of it, give it away to people that polish it off fast or keep it in the fridge.......

As long as it is boiled and sterile and goes into sterile jars it should last as long as always.
