ooh thanks. Mine don't go crispy anyway, had no idea they were supposed to. I like them all soft and fluffy!

I've never had my dumplings go crispy
Are they meant to?

LIZS · 03/02/2010 09:31

agree. I put Aunt Bessie's in for about an 1 hr 20 mins in slow cooker , 40 mins in regualr oven.

aunt bessies do dumplings?! I had no idea!

I usually make them myself, suet, flour, salt, pepper and lots of fresh coriander, and they take about 15 mins, with a pot on a rolling boil.

I'm wondering now, if I need to increase the time by more than twice.

oh yes , 99p for a bag of about 10 !

i make my own and usually add them about 30 mins before i expect slow cooker stew to be ready
however my dp likes to pop them in the oven for an extra 5/10 mins to crisp them up
