Can I freeze pizza dough?

I'm just about to make pizza - have never done it before. Recipe is for 500g flour and yeast.

Can I make double and freeze the leftover? Am not sure when I will be organised enough to do it again!

would make pizza base, bake for 5 mins, then freeze, rather than just freeze the dough.

good plan.

Actually it's all gone a bit wrong. I realised didn't have a clue how to knead dough. Was there for over 20 mins but I never got it to be smooth and elastic. Might it have been a bit too dry?

Lawks. I make it every week and freeze half raw, defrosts fine and tastes delish. I use Sarah Raven's recipe in Garden cookbook. No need to knead just leave under a damp tea towel for a few hours somewhere warm. She says it needs to be moist before you leave it, so prob you needed to add some more tepid water. Apparently moist sticky messy dough makes for crispy pizza.
