Come Dine With Me - sticky rib recipe

Did anyone see the Celebrity Come Dine With me - Javine's recipe for sticky ribs? I;ve been on to the offical website to get the recipe but it says that for copyright reasons it cannot give out the recipe so has given a really crappy version instead.

All the diners said they were the best ribs ever and I do recall her having star anise in it amongst other things which were then blitzed.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this receipe contained?

I downloaded it on 4OD to watch again just for this recipe. The ingredients for the sauce that you brush over the ribs are:

Onion, garlic, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, star anise, tomato puree and chinese 5 spice.

This was everything that she blitzed in the processor but it didn't say what the ribs had already been marinating in. I'd guess at soy sauce and maybe honey. No quantities for the processor ingredients either but you could probably tell if you'd got roughly the right proportions from the taste before you added it to the ribs.

I've googled loads of sticky rib recipes and can't find this exact ingredient list so I'd say a bit of trial and error is definitely worth a try anyway!

The recipe appears to be on the bbc good food website called sticky 5 spice ribs from olive magazine.
