Will this work? Chicken pie recipe?

I have some Batchelors condensed chicken soup that has been lurking around my cupboard for ages and I want to use it up. I was planning to use it as the sauce base for a chicken pie and add some chicken (obv), onions and sweetcorn and simmer it up. Then add some pastry and et voila chicken pie.

Will it be vile though? Never used condensed chicken soup in anything before, not even sure why I bought it in the first place. Also have chicken from roast dinner to use up so it seemed to make sense?

Nope it will be nice.

I hate tinned soup but the batchelors condensed chicken one is actually ok used the way you said, I do that as a pasta sauce and also to make chicken pie (but mine has a mashed potato and swede topping, not pastry, like a fish pie)

You will need to add extra milk though, not just use it condensed or it will be too glutinous.

Oh good.

Pastry has been lurking in the freezer for a bit as well so this is a using everything up bits meal.

Thanks!

Yes it is nice - use about half the amount of liquid they recommend, and all milk (no water)

Also nice as chicken supreme - leftover chicken, onions, mushrooms, fried in butter, add tin of cambpells' condensed soup (made up to double strength with just milk) and chuck in some frozen peas at the end. Serve with rice.

Oh thanks for milk hints.

Chicken supreme seems nice too.
