I would imagine it just wouldn't rise to the occasion

If you try it and it works please let me know as my dd is allergic to eggs and I haven't tried this

leaving the egg out won't work

it's virtually impossible tbh, you can kind of make it using a tempura batter (flour, pinch salt, fizzy water) but it doesn't really rise very well

My friend has an egg-allergic dd. I think she tried baking powder. You'll never get huge fluffy ones though...
