Good cake decorating books for novices.

I've been looking for a cake decorating classes but there aren't any near me.

What books are really good for novices? I can just about cover a cake but I really want to be able to do more.

I do know that some schools in York and probably other cities run these courses but if you contact City of York Council, they will point you in the right direction.

I can't get to the ones in York. I can't drive and the buses stop running before the course I looked at last year finished.

these books would probably be the right sort of thing. Lindy Smith is held in very high regard, and according to some of the comments, she covers things from absolute basics. A sugarcraft equivalent of Delia's "How to Cook"
