Good Morning hellenback, hope you are well.

My friend baked a castle birthday cake for her DD and she got her ideas and recipes from these websites

www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/castle-cake.html

www.bettycrocker.com/recipes.aspx/pink-castle-cake/30644b1f-8ec2-4c23-b8d8-cce1d9566df4

www.cakeanswers.com/kids-birthday-cakes.php (You can watch a step to step guide of baking and creating the cake)

Also try googling "Children's Castle Birthday Cake"

Hope this helps
Take care x

this looks simple, dd1 now wants a castle cake after seeing it.

or this

Have a look on my profile - I made a fairy castle for dd's 3rd birthday. If I was making it again, I would use small swiss rolls, rather than the big ones. The big ones tended to lean a bit!

However, it was very easy to do.

I'm on the phone so can't follow links to see if it's been mentioned, but a quick solution is 4 upside-down ice-cream cones in the corners of a square cake!

waitingforbedtime · 22/01/2010 18:23

was just going to suggest the ice cream cones thing - you can get multi coloured rainbow ones which look nice on a pink iced cake

Good Morning Ladies, hope you all are well.

I have just taken a look at your profile Littlefish and your fairy castle birthday cake looks amazing, as well as the other four cakes. You are really talented!

How long have you been baking such great cakes?

Take care x

GreatOrmand - Thank you for your kind comments. I'd never tried before, until dd's 1st bithday (she's now 5). I do one a year, for her birthday. I try to do cakes which look very impressive, but are actually quite easy . The only time I failed with this was the cat cake on my profile which looks impressive, but was horrendous to make!

A success - dolly mixtures helped cover up any mishaps but all scoffed down - so heh

Thanks ladies
