Quick slow cooker question please

I need a bolognese sauce to be ready for 1pm tomorrow. I have to leave the house before 8am, having got everyone up, breakfasted etc. and don't want to faff around prepping the lunch then.

Can I brown the veg and mince, and put it plus the tinned toms etc into the slow cooker and into the fridge tonight, and then switch it on in the morning? Will it get hot from fridge cold quickly enough to cook properly for lunch?

Thanks everyone.

Bump - anyone? Sorry if we are all tired of slow cooker threads

Yes you can.

Can you put it in on high when you get up and turn it down to low before you go out?

Thanks LLW - that's a good idea. I have an auto setting which I think keeps it at a fairly medium level, so maybe I'll put it on high for a quick blast and then switch to auto when we go out.

Thanks again.
