Teaching my kids to cook.

I am looking for a good cook book where I can help the kids to produce their own meals. DS is not very adventurous in trying new foods ( aged 10 ) and I was thinking that IF he made his own meal then there is greater chance of him eating it !!
I have the very basic "krispie buns and Pizza" type of book but I am looking for something more "wholesome" without giving the game away !
Thanks

What about the Roald Dahl Revolting Recipes books? Not exactly health food but a good read. There's a review here

Pru Irvine does cookery books for kids called Easy Peasy. I've got "Easy Peasy All The Time" which includes such things as cow burglars (burgers, obviously!), A Sweet Roast (roasted vegetables) Fowl Meat Loaf... all sorts from bread and biscuits to breakfast via burgers.

DSs are too young for it at the moment. I think I got it from a book club once.

I got a great book called Cook Kids Cook for my stepdaughter at that age - very funky with stickers and great illustrations. It even teaches you how to do a great Sunday roast chicken (dead simple- brush chicken and cut up veg with olive oil and roast the whole thing in oven) It's a good book, I think.

I was going to suggest Easy Peasy too; there are about three of them now, including Esay Peasy Sweetie Pie. There are some lovely recipes, and it's not too patronising.

HI

I have a fantastic book from Usborne called the Beginners cookbook.

I has 4 sections, Cakes and Cookies, vegitarian, pasta and pizza and a general beginners section with a mixture of things.

Its brilliant, all the receipes are really simple and my daughter has cooked many meals on her own -she was 10 when she first had it!

I do sell Usborne books, so if you have trouble finding it in the shops, I can always get one to you.
