Am just about to give birth to DD and am trying to be organised and fill the freezer. Got as far as making 6 shepherd's pies and have run out of inspiration - very baby brained atm!
Would love some really simple, just throw it all in for a bit, then freeze it recipies, if anyone can think of them.

ooh oooh. Love this. V sensible. I left it too late and DS came 3 weeks early - oooops. How I wish I had.

Shepherds'/Cottage pie
Chilli - 800g of meat - again makes 4 or five meals with 3/4 tins of beans ( kidney, black eye and pinto) and if you eat it with fresh lettuce, spring onions, sour cream, torilla, cheddar etc.
Spag Bol - 800 g of meat makes at least 4 spag bols for us, with toms, onions and mushrooms and a few small ortions for DS after school. But I'm tight and like lots of spah, whereas DH likes the bol ...
Coq Au vin - works as a stew and as a pie, brill if you buy frozen pastry.
Lamb Stew/hot pot
Fish Pie base
Pizzas/bases.home made dough
Chicken Curry
Thai Green Curry
Home made/bought Lamb Kofte
Home made burgers
Soup - I also make basic veg soup and then freeze in small portions so I have my own stock... is that sad?!
Beef or chicken, cut up for stir fry, already in marinde so meat defrosts when marinading and you just throw in wok.
Hoem made fish cakes

Also if you like them - would thoroughly recommend freezing:

Steaks
Sausages
Chicken Breasts - Defrost quite quickly and work in any stew, sitr fry, curries, risotto etc etc
Prawns - as above
Garlic/Herb Butter
Fresh Chillis, ginger (peeled), sliced up peppers.

Good thread and will wath with interest. Ask if any detail would be helpful - prob not tho!

Good luck!
