I have just made a batch of fairy cakes and put icing on top and then put some small rice-paper toppers on them. I imagined that they would just stick on and sit flat but they were right buggers and tended to curl up at the edges. Hey Ho though they look alright and my little boy is delighted with them.
I also have a large white iced cake from Asda and have purchased an A4-sized cake topper to put on top. They say to put it in the freezer for five minutes until the topper starts to separate away from its backing and then moisten the surface of the icing and lay it down. I can just see it all going horribly wrong!
Wondered if anyone had done this before and whether there are any special dos and don'ts or failsafe techniques!
