I am having a party tomorrow for my 6 yr old ds . Family and grown ups mostly , his scary party with 10 boys is Sunday .
I was going to make some pinwheels with puff pastry but other than pesto I am lacking imagination on fillings .
Also I have never made these before so any advice appreciated .
TIA

sweet

mince and onions would not be nice I feel

travellingwilbury · 15/01/2010 14:19

Phew ! I was getting a bit worried about the mess that would make

Thankyou , sweet mince sounds fab .

I was also thinking soft cheese and garlic could work hopefully .

tomato and herb sauce (like you would make for a pizza topping) and especially nice if you make cheesy pastry

grated cheese mixed with finely chopped spring onion and mixed with a bit of mayo

chopped ham and mango chutney

pate

for sweet ones I would do
cream cheese with mashed banana or with jam

cold stewed apple with cinnamon

mincemeat as TurnYour suggested

What about smoked salmon and cream cheese?

cheese and marmite

TurnYourFrownUpsideDown · 15/01/2010 14:26

If you can get it I'll bet onion marmalade and cheddar would be scrummy

parma ham and parmasan

blizz some sun blushed tomatoes to make a paste

agree with display. Children love tomato and cheese ones, either a home made tomato sauce or a jar if in a rush. Very easy and incredibly tasty.

pointysaysrelax · 15/01/2010 16:59

I take it you are buying ready rolled puff pastry?

Remember to glaze with beaten egg.

travellingwilbury · 15/01/2010 18:22

Thank you , I have made
cheese , red onion and garlic
rocket pesto
mincemeat
banana and golden syrup

I have put them in the fridge and will cut and cook them tomorrow

Wish me luck

Thank you again
