go to www.bbc.co.uk/food
and look for your favourites (don't think spag bol is one though strictly speaking)

Shepherds Pie
Macaroni Cheese
Chicken and mushroom pie
Roast beef and all the trimmings
Lancashire hotpot
Fish Pie
Toad in the Hole
Fish cakes

for toad in the hole batter mix my MIL swares by 2 flour 2 eggs 2 milk 2 water all mixed up and left for at least half hour b4 pourin it into a pan which has had oil in it which has been in the oven for at least half hour on full heat so it's really really hot fat, apparently then when it rises it stays up - must say work's everytime for her as well, bit hit and miss for me thou!
