nope, just eggs, butter and milk here, stuck in the microwave until its firm. can't stand sloppy scrambled egg. makes me want to vom.

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 13:03

I melt butter in a pan and whisk the egg with a bit of milk, then add to the pan

I LOVE scrambled egg, esp on toast with Worcester sauce

Francagoestohollywood · 11/01/2010 13:04

I usually add some grated cheese.

I prefer fried eggs with bacon though.

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 13:07

Eggs are great

I love them any way

Fave is poached, I think

But can't beat a PERFECTLY boiled egg with white toast soldiers... problem is, it's rare I boil it perfectly

Just butter. Melt on low heat, cook for a few mins in thick bottomed pan, take off heat while runny and keep stirring as it'll keep cooking. Stop when slightly firm. Use most expensive eggs I can find as makes a huge difference. Serve on hot buttered toast with salt and pepper. YUM.

Igglybuff · 11/01/2010 13:24

notnow here try not to be offended by how she manages to talk down. It does work though!

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 13:26

Thanks!

I add peeled and grated courgette!
I melt butter, gently fry the courgette and then add eggs, dash milk and serve while bit runny.
But then I have to get veggies in them somehow...normally I just add butter and milk though.

SofaQueen · 11/01/2010 13:35

No milk - just butter, and a bit of creme fraiche at the very end to stop the cooking (I like it smooth and runny). Not a fan of the French method (on double boiler, stirring constantly until one has a lighly lumpy soft custard texture), but like the direct heat and slow stir method.

Love it with smoked salmon or just plain on toast.

MrsJohnDeere · 11/01/2010 13:44

Melt touch of butter

Add beaten eggs and scramble quite quickly on high heat

Remove from heat before set.

Stir in a bit more butter

Leave for a minute or so in the pan to finish cooking

Never add milk or cream. Sometimes a bit of grated cheese on top.

No milk, just eggs and salt- melt butter, add beaten eggs and scramble.

Best served with saute potatoes and gherkins.

Yum.

Eggs, milk, salt & pepper. Cream makes it too rich IMO. Smoked salmon stirred in during cooking works well (light lunch on Xmas day), as does spreading the toast with a thin layer of marmite or vegimite. There was also a piece I saw in "Real men don't eat Quiche" a few years ago that recommended putting a bit of Tonic Water in (fizzy, not flat) as this kept the eggs light and fluffy with the exploding bubbles.

Cooked in the microwave on a Saturday morning. Freshly ground pepper and Maldon sea salt on buttered (not marge) toast.

Yum.
