caramel rice krispie bars

I need a recipe for the above in double quick time if anyone can oblige please.

It mustn't include condensed milk or caramels/toffees as I don't have any! I want to make it myself (am thinking butter, brown sugar and syrup?) but I would prefer a tried and tested recipe.

sorry, mine contains both toffee and marshmallows...

you could use a basic flajack syrup (150g marg, 75g sugar, 3tbsp golden syrup), stir in rice crispies till it looks right and press into tin to set?

That is what I was thinking MrsBadger! But boiling it first so the "caramel" goes sticky and sets. Every recipe I can find includes toffees or marshmallows
