If I wanted to put on weight (ha ha!) I would do it with Guinness, peanuts, two hot meals a day, avocados, bananas, flapjacks, thick bread instead of thin, greek yogurt with honey, nut and raisin mix for snacks, coffee made with milk rather than water - anything high calorie that isn't pure sugar and fat.

Good luck cheesey, am sure you can do it.

gigglebells · 07/01/2010 22:57

good on yer!! The best thing for me is cream and eating a decent dinner, plus good junk calorie intake at lunchtime. I have been eating chocolate at bed time as well, which is very bad for my teeth but good for my weight
Have also put on 6lb over xmas and want to keep it that way!

cheesesarnie · 07/01/2010 22:58

oooh i like all those apart from guiness.coffee made with milk rather than water?what no water at all?hot milk?

Do you like instant or proper coffee cheesey?

If you have instant, mix the coffee powder with a little bit of boiling water in the cup (say a tenth of the cup full) to dissolve the coffee, then top up with hot milk.

If you like filter coffee do about half a cup of strong coffee, then top up with hot milk.

When you get a latte or cappuccino in a coffee shop those are both made with nearly all milk.

cheesesarnie · 07/01/2010 23:12

can you tell we dont have coffee shops in these 'ere parts?

thanks will try in morning when i do porridge!

Shall follow this thread with interest as I also need to put on a stone ... I've been trying for months but just can't get my weight up. What a complaint to have !

cheesesarnie · 07/01/2010 23:23

bibbity i couldnt eat it without-eww.although i sneak it on so dc dont see.

millie- i dont know what happened to make my body suddenly start being normal!maybe my age?maybe its because im walking less-have learnt to drive so am a lazy arse.

no idea but i cant wait to be able to buy normal clothes.in a big girls(adults) shop(not a rude shop,a grown ups shop).

lol - cheese and millie it's so good (sorry, but y'kno what I mean) to have someone else here too

liking the avocado idea that keeps popping up, didn't know they were good for calories too.

Orange Juice (full of Carbs) butter rather than Marge, jacket potato with cheese, full fat milk, bananas, a larger meal in the evening rather than at midday. In short, everything my wife says I should n't have if I am ever to get back to the weight I was when we got married 20 yrs ago. All healthy/natural foods though!

cheesesarnie · 08/01/2010 21:39

!i was reading a trashy mag and it was full of diet tips etc and i just thought maybe i should do the opposite!listen to your wife!

didnt know about orange juice!,not a fan of butter, like jacket potatoes and cheese,we only buy full fat milk-although i hate it on its own, love bananas,my evening meal is my main meal so always bigger than lunch.

I had a good lunch today ... ciabatta stuffed with brie & cranberry plus really fatty Amore yogurt (though I eat one of those every day ) ... and am nibbling savoury snacks and Quality Street.

Cheese ... were you lighter than you are now? Wow!

2010aQuintessentialOdyssey · 08/01/2010 21:55

Oh forget all those sensibel posters.... They have NO CLUE how to put on weight. I, however, do!

Breakfast:

Natural full fat youghurt with muesli, pieces of banana and strawberry, honey.
2 pieces of buttered granary toast
Full fat latte. (picked up on my way to work, eaten at my desk)

Lunch: Any sandwich from M&S, follwed by a pineapple and passion fruit fruit salad. Any M&S Fruit smoothie. Washed down with:
Starbucks Passion Cake and Latte or
Starbucks Chocolate Fudge Cake
and a latte.

Dinner:
Anything from Slug & Lettuce, or Pizza Express. Half bottle of red wine. Cheese cake with vanilla ice cream. Black Coffee.

Before bed:
Chicken Nuggets with chips and baked beans. Hagen Dazs strawberry and cheese cake ice cream.

It did not take me that long to get from size 12 to size 16 like this. Never managed to get rid of this weight though, so please ensure that you know that you really DO want to put on weight.

If you only need to put on SOME weigh, try this diet for 2 weeks. It should be enough.
But as you can probably imagine, its gonna cost ya!!!

cheesesarnie · 08/01/2010 22:02

i cant afford to eat like that.are you making fun quint????

millie-that sounds nice, can i come to yours for lunch!i had cheese and cucumber sandwhich plus satsuma and monster munch(classy) and hot chocolate.
