My name is EmilyStrange... and I am addicted to starbucks lattes.

And being snowed in means I am in a forced withdrawel. so now is the time to seek help.

I am spending a fortune on these and random jars of instant trying to find an alternative. I have also tried a cafetiere with starbucks coffee but it was vile. So for all coffee lovers (especially of starbucks lattes), what do you recommend for drinking at home. I reckon I could save up for something really big if I could find a replacement.

Please help, please please please [emoticon for begging]

So you're addicted to warm milky american coffee?

Should be easy enough to replicate at home

Starbuck's coffee isn't very nice, far too milky.

Could you invest in a machine that steams milk for you?

i was bought one of the dolce gusto coffee machines by my lovely dh...its fab!!!

like this one in red

uses pods. i buy them at costco...it costs me about 30 pence for a latte....but well worth it.

i'm getting addicted!

I too am partial to a milky latte but have managed to curtail my habit by brewing good, strong cafetiere coffee at home and adding a dash of milk and my secret ingredient.....a small dash of single cream. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not a latte but for me it hits the spot just as well, for a fraction of the price. And probably half the calories too, if I'm honest. You don't need much cream to get the desired taste.

Make sure you brew the cafetiere properly though (i.e. correct ratio of coffee to water) or it will be horrible.

I am addicted to Boston Tea Party"s large Boston Latte the nearest I've managed is a latte made on my Gaggia Classic with 2 shots of Illy coffee and full fat milk.
