Can you help me think of some meals/recipes please? Just for me and DS who is 15 months. I can't eat any kind of cheese (allergic) but other dairy OK, and DS is not keen on very spicy food, and won't eat egg. I don't really like sweet and sour type flavour combinations.

Apart from that I am interested in anything, am getting a bit fed up of spag bol/burgers and frozen veg/sausage and mash/etc.

I have a freezer to store leftovers but no microwave to reheat so can only store things which can be reheated in a pan.

You can roast a whole chicken in a slow cooker.

Just put it in and leave it.

There is a slow cooker thread in here somewhere. MNHQ love them.

Spag bol / shepherd's pie in the slow cooker is good too.

sweet and sour, stew, chunks of meat, sausage casserole, curry - lot of things you do in an oven, just add less liquid. on the hob - have you searched for pasta recipes as there are loads of variations

So long as you have a cast iron casserole, who needs an oven, although an oven might be cheaper than some casseroles.

You can do all sorts of things, the only theng you don;t have is an oven!!!!

I hardly ever use my oven.

Do stir fries, stews, pasta and sauces, rice and sauces, sauteed food, casseroles... the list is endless
