2 Year Old Helps Cook Food - Video Blog - You Must Watch This!

Why has no one told me about www.mydaddycooks.com before? It's great. Have you seen it... a dad videos himself cooking food with his 2 year old son helping. The food is all food that his son eats, ranging from a Omelette to Pan Fried Sea Bass.

I've got to try some of these recipes with the 2 year old I nanny. I am a little concerned that Nick (no relation to me, honest) makes it look so easy... though nice to see in some video's that it doesn't always go fully to plan!

What do you think? Would your children eat these dishes?

Thank you Nick, it is really very kind of you to post this (and thanks for the kind comments you posted in my blog tonight).

The key about it "looking easy" is that most of the time, it actually is. I like to cook dishes that work and which are not overly elaborate or complicated. Also, all the dishes on the blog are pretty "forgiving" when it comes to timings and measurements. The key with them is that Archie enjoys cooking them and eating them! And as you rightly day, some days things work better than others! That's the whole point of the blog - this is real life cooking in a non-professional kitchen!! Plus we have fun cooking and we have fun eating together as a family.

I really believe that Archie helping to cook has contributed to his healthy relationship around food - and making an effort to use diverse flavours and pretty presentation really has its benefits.

As you will read on the blog, we adopted a baby led approach when we weaned him on to solids and this video blog is just a natural continuation of where we started 20 months ago...

Thanks again for taking the time to post the link, I hope others enjoy the videos as much as you did.

Ps - we may share the same name but me and Nick are definitely not the same person (someone messaged me on the blog asking if we were!). We "met" thanks to Twitter only yesterday and he kindly posted this link. I only found out about it because it showed up in the web stats for my blog...

I just checked out your blog, MDC, and I love it. My 2 year old can't get enough of your videos. Normally she sits on the counter and slops stirs things for me occasionally. It's lovely to see Archie getting more involved. We're trying the seabass tomorrow, together. Will let you know how it goes.

MDC... we like it! Thank you for your (and Archie's) good work.

I liked it too! Watched the savoury bacony olivey cakey thing which looked rather gorgeous. Good plan to have ingredients ready for pouring as I always forget that and the kids get a bit bored watching me rooting in cupboards for some long lost ingredient.
