Pancake batter out on the side - having a panic

Our traditional Christmas meal here is spinach pancakes (+ Christmas trimmings). Last night I cooked up a big batch of pancakes and popped them in the freezer ready for tomorrow.

I expected it to take half an hour to cook the things - not the one and a half hours (could have been a bit longer) that it actually took.

During the time that I was cooking them, I had the batch of pancake batter uncovered out on the side next to the cooker as I made my way through it all to turn it into pancakes.

I'm now having a bit of a panic about whether it is OK for it to have been out on the side for that duration (what with having raw egg in it and everything).

I am a worrier, but I thought someone on Mumsnet will know if it's worth worrying about or not.

Thanks and happy Christmas

It will be fine, promise. Was expecting you to say it had been out all night. Reheat them thoroughly to make yourself feel better.

In this weather it would have been fine for 3-4 hours, honestly, even more. Enjoy them

Thanks everyone. I was dreading having to start from scratch again!

Princess Toadstool - that shock face is a joke right? (ought to explain, I have OCD so am a bit more nervous about things than lots of people)
