Have never cooked ham before... am cooking Nigella's ham and....

it smells horrid! Is this normal when cooking ham?

The ham itself didn't smell bad when I put it in the pan, its been cooking for about an hour and well it doesnt smell pleasant to say the least!

Don't worry it will be yummy. I made it for the first time about a month ago - it vanished very quickly!

boiling ham stinks!!! ham after glazing etc tastes yummy. Don't worry.

I hate the smell. I hate peeling the rind off even more but I love it when it's done so its worth it.

I am not keen on the smell of boiling meat either
