Demi sec champagne?

DH did the shopping last night and bought a bottle of champagne for tomorrow night which was on offer. He didnt notice that it was demi sec.

Please can anyone tell me how will this be different please from 'normal' champagne which is usually brut I think? Bit worried it might be really sweet- bleurgh!

TIA

It isn't very sweet - more "off dry". I believe that it is more popular in France than here where the fashion is for brut champagne.
A demi-sec champagne is our champagne of choice when we have to buy it ourselves!

it is quite sweet but not like an asti
the french tend to like to drink them with their sweet course
poor dh eh?
he was only trying to help

Thanks guys- just been googling it and it seems to suggest its best with desserts as you said Blondemoment- we are supposed to be having it with canapes tomorrow night (friends coming over). Would you still serve it or get something else?
