christmas pud and all that will be after the big christmas dinner earlier in the day, the evening 'tea' is a salad-y type affair with salmon, salads, crusty bread, pasta and rice salad etc.
And to follow?

Would like some sweet and tasty suggestions if you have any, please?

Delia's chocolate truffle torte - with amaretto (sp?) and amaretti (sp?) biscuits - yum! Can refrigerate or freeze.

gigglebells · 21/12/2009 20:01

oooh. would i find it if I google? I don't think I could bear the embarrassment of buying a delia book

I am going to do lemon posset - can be done the day before and stick them in the fridge.

Gigglebells - I think you can get it on delia online to spare you any embarrassment!

jaquelinehyde · 21/12/2009 20:14

Profiteroles go down pretty well.

Why embarassed at buying Delia?

Trifle? Classic christmas tea time pudding or a yule log - delia or nigella have recipes for both.

bellavita · 21/12/2009 20:26

I have loads of delia books

Oblomov · 21/12/2009 20:26

agree, trifle or yule log. I bought the ingredients for both myself today.

duckyfuzz · 21/12/2009 20:29

trifle - its not christmas without it

gigglebells · 21/12/2009 20:50

at not christmas without trifle...

also need to be able to make a dairy-free equivalent / similarish thing too y'see, makes it a tad more tricky. can do that delia thing in df I think, can also do trifle...or something df..... hmmm, can't decide if trifle would keep from weds to fri. hmm. dunno.

Well, if you are going to do a trifle, then it must be Nigella's Anglo Italian Trifle.

You need to make it at least a day ahead and you will love it
