Tell me I'm not mad! Having a BBQ for 150 at my house!

Annual church fundraising BBQ is held in my garden - this year it seems VERY popular - 150 ish on the list. My freezer now has 180 sausages & 100 cornettos in it - got to get more of those. Butcher will deliver the burgers & kebabs on Sat am.

We will have a Live8 screen up for those who want to watch it, 3 large Barbies on the go, & probably a queue for the trampoline.

Please pray for good weather - my garden is large - my house is not (But we will have 3 large gazebos + 1 normal size one up)

Am I really mad?

We feel having this garden is a gift, we are thankful & try to use it. It's just remembering that when the thought of all those people coming becomes a reality

stitch · 28/06/2005 18:41

i think yo uare very brave.
have you got paper plates, and bins around to chuck them into?

people to man the barbies etc?
can i come?

kalex · 28/06/2005 18:45

I think that you are really lovely

pepsi · 28/06/2005 18:49

Yes agree you are mad, but Im sure you will have a great day.............you wont have to cook anything either........Im guessing there will be a scrum of males around the bbq demonstrating their cooking skills! Have you got a group of people helping you? You know, one person to let people in, one to help with drinks, organising games for children etc. Are people bringing food as well?

StrugstuWaitingForThePostman · 28/06/2005 18:50

looney choons comes too mind! whata brave woman u r. i would love to enjoy giving bbq or parties but unfortunately i'm too anal about getting mud/wine/cake on my carpet! well done and good luck and if possible enjoy it.

Good on you-not mad,just v kind!

MrsGordonRamsay · 28/06/2005 18:51

Proper Bonkers,

But just the sort of thing I would do

Except I frequently volunteer us/me/DH and then tell him

He never complains, which considering I am the one with the Faith and he is neither here nor there Faith wise, impresses me no end.
