I did it last year, everyone absolutely loved it, they had a right laugh when I told them that the turkey had had a bath thats why it tasted so good. Will be doing it again this year.
I would also recommend her home cured ham recipe and sweet chilli cocktail sausages, they also went down a treat.

I just posted on this in the christmas topic.

Did it for the first time last year - absolutely amazing - well worth it.

My top tip is to put it into a cool box - you know the picnic type ones if you have one? Keeps it cool, has a lid, easy to clean. I put it in on the evening of 23rd?

Oh and you want to get spices and stuff as soon as if you havent already got them - think everyone that shopped at my local tesco had the same receipe last year so there wasnt any star anaise etc.

thanks for the good reviews. don't have a cool box, but a cool bag - don't think that'll work planned to buy new bucket from the local hardware shop - they have lovely yellow ones.

also planning to do the ham in cola- LOVELY!

Bucket will work just aswell. Would def keep it outside.

Ham in cola also scrummy. Thought about it, but have a joint of beef for christmas eve, turkey for christmas day and we are out for boxing day... and there are only 3 of us
