It can do but DH loves coming home to the smell of a nice casserole cooking (note this isn't the 50's - I put the slowcooker on a timer so it comes on when I'm in work. He gets home before me )

It depends what you cook. Currently I've got some chops, apples sage and onions slowly cooking away. It is noticible when you come in the front door, but not malouderous. We live in a pretty small open plannish flat and I don't want the extractor on all day.

I find you get used to it when you are in the house, it's only when you come in and out that you can smell it, IYSWIM. But yes, it does smell. In a nice way. If you are cooking nice things, that is.

Yes. That's the best bit. Coming home to the smell of slow cooked beef in beer and bread in the breadmaker. Mmmmmm.

My mouth is watering!! I asked because I'd like to buy the slowcooker for MIL. She works and they have an open plan flat so FIL would be at home smelling the food. DH would love the idea, but I'm not sure about FIL... What slowcooker would you recommend?
