Chestnut Puree - where in the supermarket?

I'm somewhat housebound at the moment. Which means that DH has to do the shopping.

Not that it's at all frustrating getting phone calles very 30 pico seconds from him when he's in the shop (where's this?, what's that?) But I need to get chestnut puree (unsweetened) for Christmas (chestnut stuffing om yom yom)

But he's now been twice and swears blind he can't find it. Christmas will be destroyed if I don't have my chestnut stuffing.

I KNOW it's in the shops and if I were able to go I'd do this crazy thing call looking or even asking. But my only solution is figuring out where abouts it is (I've suggested 'speacialist section' nope - then TBH I can't be sure he knew what I was talking about!)

Can anyone help me out? My local store is Tesco

In Sainsburys they are near the packets of stuffing, which are above frozen vegetables.

Buddleja · 14/12/2009 09:26

Thanks - stuffings - I'll give that a go

Though I live in a world without Sainsburys

In Asda it was with the stuffing.

Whatever supermarket you have, go on their website so he can see a picture of what he is looking for.

Buddleja · 14/12/2009 09:32

LOL Fab - I could give him a picture with a writen note saying 'Please can you tell me where I can get this' all he'd have to do is hand it to someone in a blue checktop!

Oh no wait a bit that's too ricky - I'd then have to give him a picture of the blue checked top. This could get complicated

How about he ASKS someone in the store?

nikki1978 · 14/12/2009 09:35

I buy the Merchant Goumand one - navy blue tin. In Tesco it is down by the herbs, oil etc. Since it is Christmas they usually have a special xmas section with it in. Just ask someone they will find it for you! Tastes fab in stuffing btw

If you are really stuck I will get it for you and post it!

Buddleja · 14/12/2009 09:50

I'm in Rep of Ireland Fab! But thanks!

Mind you the problem with being in Ireland (after looking at nikki's link) it's a tin is about 500 euro)

Apparently he did ask midnightexpress but on both occasion the askee didn't speak very good English and didn't understand what he wanted so he's decided never to ask again

If I get desperate I'll get my mum to bring some over in her hand luggage

Do they deliver? Perhaps you could do an online shop and get them to bring it to you?

What is it with men and their non-asking thing?

Buddleja · 14/12/2009 11:20

Now the problem with the delivery (I've thought about it!) is that they don't - for reasons unknow - deliver from my local store but one that is, how can I be polite about this, erm, filthy.

Mind you it's in a tin so hmmm maybe

why not ring the store and ask them, so you can tell him exactly where it is (unless they move it, of course!)

Buddleja · 14/12/2009 11:50

You're a genius lilo!!
