out of date ginger cake, still in packet - can I use??

and if so, how? is there some warm pud type thing I can make from it?

It's about 2 weeks out of date, still in sealed packaging but can't see any dodgy growths on it!!

Does it have a best before or a use by date?

Best before means that it's safe to eat after the date given - it may just not be as tasty.

Use by means that you shouldn't eat it, as it could be growing dodgy things that will make you very ill/possibly even kill you. Cheerful

If it's BB - I'd heat it through and then smother it in custard myself. Oooooh, custard
