You can make a fantastic pork and apple casserole. or apple muffins. Or Eve's pudding.

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 16:34

Or make gallons of apple sauce to go with latkes, yum.

apple piue / crumble takes loads of apples, I always use loads of old ones up like that
Or is that what you bought them for in the first place??

silverwoodhelpdesk · 07/12/2009 16:46

Baked Apples; Core, fill with sultanas and brown sugar and bake in a moderate oven for about half an hour (I think). Do remember to cut through the skin of the apple around its equator because it will explode if you don't. This gives it room for expansion.

Lulumama · 07/12/2009 16:47

no, i usually make crumble with apples from the tree, so about 2 a year. i don't really know why i bought them, think it was an accident and i wanted eating apples

I am afraid that you MUST make this Apple Traybake.

Eat it warm with cream or custard or cold with a cup of tea - it is gorgeous

Lulumama · 07/12/2009 17:43

Baked apples are so, so easy. You can shove anything you want in there - I have had good results with chopped up chocolate bars (Twixes, Mars bars, etc) as well as muesli, nuts, dried fruit etc. If it's something dry add a bit of butter. Add spices to taste, eg bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon....

belgo · 07/12/2009 17:59

Apple sauce and Roast chicken, and chips. Very belgian.

Apple and red cabbage and some saltanas, yummy.

Apple and rhubarb crumble.
