Sugar Glue Help Please!

I just can't seem to make sugar glue. The book I have says mix modelling paste with boiling water and stir until it is a thick paste but that never happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

I make my glue using tyllo powder and water. 1/4 tsp tyllo powder to 2tbsp water mix together in a container with a lid, put lid on and leave in the fridge over night. Next day will be clear, syrupy consistancy glue.

I have never made it with sugarpaste and water.

Is tyllo powder anything like Gum Tragacanth?

I can't get to buy anything else as I need it for tomorrow.

I use sugar paste and boiling water - I just put a blob of paste in a little bowl and put a bit of boiling water on it and stir.

What goes wrong, Kayzr? I can't see how it can't work!

It doesn't dissolve. The water goes cloudy and that is it. I was stirring it for 25 minutes yesterday and nothing happened. I might be using to much water.

Odd. I use a tiny amount of water and just sort of squidge it about. It doesn't matter if it's not perfectly smooth and lump free - I just dip a brush in the resultant gunge and it seems to work. What are you making?

I think I must use too much water. I'll have another go today.

I am making a Stay Puft Marshmallow man for my brothers 21st. Ghostbusters is his favourite film. I'm hoping it will turn out ok.
