mince pie alternatives please

I like mince pies but would like to bake some alternatives this year. I'd love to hear your favourite recipes for using mincemeat!

I do mince pies with a frangipan topping rather than a plain pastry top.

Also sometimes use a bit of mincemeat in a muffin recipe, or in an apple pie or crumble.

I've recipes for mincemeat ice cream too but not tried that.

I used filo pastry one year - spoonful of mincemeat in middle. Nicer imo as a lot lighter than mince pies.

TheArmadillo, how do you prepare the filo? Do you cut it into squares/circles or something before you put the mincemeat in the middle?
