You pour brandy on them and set them on fire and they melt into the wine.

Or something like that.

Does anyone know what I mean? I'm going on DP's description here.

Where can I get one?

I know what you mean. Don't know where you would get them though. The German for the resulting product is "Feuerzangenbowle" so you could try googling that.

Glad its not made up!

Apparently the cone is called a Zuckerhut, but googling that doesn't ssem to help.

I'm sure I've just seen another thread about this? Is it in the Food topic?

WilfSell · 06/12/2009 14:38

There are LOADS of videos called feuerzangenbowle so that's obv what you need to search for...

WilfSell · 06/12/2009 14:50

ta daaaaah

Looks like they deliver in UK...

TinselianAstra · 06/12/2009 14:55

Wow, thanks!

So it's £1.80 for a cone, £6 for delivery...

Good detective work!

Now all you need is the special metal holder. I bet you could find one at a Christmas market if there's one near you?

If there were a Christmas market with holders, wouldn't they have the cones as well?

DP has seen this done in a student house with no extra implements, he said he just needed a cone. I said I'd try to use the collective wisdom of MN to find a cone, but he's in charge of not-destroying-the-saucepan-or-burning-down-the-house.
