easy xmas starters

please give me some ideas of easy but delicious starters which would work well on xmas day.Thanks

Last year I made a Smoked Salmon Pate and it went down very well.

You can make it a day or two before and chill in individual ramekins, then serve on the day with some thin brown toast. It is very yummy.

If you search you can find recipes for smoked mackerel pate which is nice too.

Not very original but a favourite here - avocado filled with prawn cocktail.

Pear slices with walnuts and gorgonzola is nice.

Prawns go beautifully with grapefruit (mad but true)

Or if you want to go naff and retro, tinned grapfruit with sherry mixed in with the juice is fabuloso
