I was thinking fishcakes, except sans fish, with chorizo instead. Does that sound nice?
How do you make them into patties that stick together not a mess in a pan?
No more waste in this house.

Sounds very nice. I'd chop the chorizo up a bit first and fry it, then put the meat and oil into the mash. Would be nice with some parsley, fried onions and garlic in too. To bring it together you need to add egg and flour to the mash. About 50g of flour and one egg to about 300g mash.

best thing I do with it is add chicken or veg stock and a bit of nutmeg and you get a fantastic potato soup! You can grate a little parmesan on top if you are into that sort of thing!

Our household favourite is the attractively named 'cheesy splats' - mash + grated cheese, shaped into fishcake sized things, floured and fried until crispy.

stealth, am loving the cheesy splats!

missmama · 01/12/2009 10:31

We do the same as Stealth but without the cheese
I am putting cheese in the next ones - Yum

Well, I made them, they were lovely actually. I put some cheese on top as well, this dish shall be named Chorizo splats, (thanks stealth for excellent name)
