What does this mean and how do I do it? I know it involves booze but that's about it!

You pour your booze of choice onto the top of it (I usually do a couple of cap fulls each time). Repeat depending on how boozy you like your cake.

I would stick with either brandy or sherry.......no good pouring baileys over a cake I usually do 2 tbsps of brandy every other week until about 2 weeks before xmas and it keeps the cake lovely and moist.

If you want to get techie about it you can get syringes for the job which are quite fun!

Depends as well on what cake is made with- so maybe rum, or I quite like amaretto for cakes made with that (am an amaretto fan)

I find if i genently prick surface with cocktail stickjust a few times it helps, then yep just pur over- I prefer little and often.
