Chana Dhal? Last minute help, please!

Hello. I'm in the middle of cooking some chana dhal for the first time and I was just wondering if anyone out there could tell me what it's meant to look like when it's done! Is it supposed to be soupy, like tarka dal, or do the chickpea bits stay discrete? I'm hoping to serve it to a baby so keen to make sure it's okay!
Thank you!

Can be made to taste. Mine is usually soupy (kids and DH prefer it that way), but once in a while I make it drier, so add less water when cooking (obviously!) and the bits stay discrete.

If its for a baby maybe go soupy first and then bitty later on if baby likes it.

Errrm...just noticed that you posted this on Thursday . Hope the meal went well

Thank you! I'll bear in mind that there's a range of possibilities next time! It was...okay, quite bitty, but it tasted nice enough. Think I'll work on the texture... Thanks for the advice.
