urgent! eggs past sell-by date

Sell-by date was 6th Nov, at-least-good-until 13th Nov. Are they ok to use in a cake? I cracked one open, it looks ok and doesn't smell funny. Don't want to poison anyone though!

Get a jug of cold water and pop the egg in, if it sinks to the bottom it's fine.

I've had a box of eggs since September and they've been fine.

ditto juney bean. if they float don't use them. if they sink they are fine.
my dad was a chef and used this all his life

They'll be fine. Eggs last ages.

MrsBadger · 26/11/2009 12:28

yes they'll be fine

just crack each one into a cup before slinging in the cake mix in case one is actually off
